“Let’s renew our commitment to protect the ideals that our flag represents.”
Don Bosco High School and Junior College, Lonavla celebrated the 78th Independence Day of our nation India, on August 15, 2024with great pride and enthusiasm. The celebration was a fitting homage to the countless heroes and freedom fighters who fought tirelessly for the country’s independence.
The celebrations began in the school down hall at 8:15 am with the hoisting of the national flag by the chief guest Sir E.V. Johnson. This was accompanied by the singing of the national anthem. Everyone present saluted the national flag in respect and solidarity to the country and the ideals upon which it is built, and in honour of those who served and sacrificed their lives to secure independence for its people from foreign rule.
The second part of the celebration was a colourful programme organized by the school in which the students sang patriotic songs, delivered patriotic speeches and also performed a group dance.
The programme concluded with a message by the principal Fr. Ranson D’Souza SDB. The vote of thanks was proposed by the college captain miss Gayatri Pathare.
