“Wings of Joy: Children’s Day Celebrations at Don Bosco Lonavla”

Children are the wings of humanity and the wisdom of a nation, a sentiment echoed in the heartfelt celebrations of Children’s Day at Don Bosco High School and Junior College, Lonavla, on November 14, 2024. Honoring the legacy of Chacha Nehru, a man whose affection for children earned him a timeless place in their hearts, the day brought laughter, learning, and lively festivities for students from Std V to XII.

The celebrations commenced with a soulful Prayer Service, weaving together hymns, a Scripture reading, and reflections on the values championed by Nehru. Intercessory prayers followed, embodying the universal aspiration for every child’s well-being.

Adding a vibrant splash to the day were the food and game stalls, meticulously arranged by students and teachers, transforming the campus into a hub of joy and camaraderie. The excitement soared as management provided delicious snacks, a gesture that delighted young hearts.

The celebrations concluded on a warm note, with students expressing gratitude to their class teachers, who had tirelessly worked to make the day memorable. Credit for the event’s seamless execution goes to the dedicated teachers in-charge:  Sushma Patankar, Kiran Malekar, Vrushali Jadhav, and Pournima Kale, who embodied the spirit of nurturing care.

As the day unfolded, it reminded everyone that children are not just the hope of tomorrow but the joy of today.
