SINGING COMPETITION – ‘CELEBRATE THE RHYTHM’

A Singing Competition, ‘Celebrate the Rhythm,’ was organized at Don Bosco High School & Junior College, Lonvala, on 19 July 2024. Mr. Sanjiv Veer and Deacon Avil Correa were the judges.

The students were divided into three class-wise categories for the competition: Category A (Classes 5–7), Category B (Classes 8–10), and Category C (Classes 11 and 12). During the week prior to the finals, elimination rounds were held, and the finalists were chosen.

On the day of the competition, the three categories performed in succession. The participants impressed the judges with their melodious singing. At the end of the performances, the judges expressed their views on the event. Mr. Sanjiv Veer, the judge, sang the famous Hindi number, ‘Pal, pal, dil ke paas,’ enthralling the students with his beautiful voice.

The winners were awarded certificates by the judges and the management. This was followed by the Principal, Fr. Ranson D’Souza, expressing his views about the program and congratulating the winners. A vote of thanks proposed by Gayatri Pathare brought the event to its conclusion. The program was organized by teachers Asgari and Vrushali.

The aim of this competition was to provide an opportunity to encourage students to showcase their vocal range and singing talent.

1st: Yajat Boke

2nd: Joshua Rodrigues

3rd: Aksh Oswal

Category C:

1st: Ajit Pal Singh Mathadu

2nd: Mahi Pal & Durva Gholapkar

3rd: Hayden Pereira & Ayush Awaya

The winners were very happy; some of them felt that their dreams had come true, while others felt good as this was the first time they had won and gained confidence in themselves.
